Position Overview

As a CDL Shuttle Driver, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for passengers traveling throughout the community. You'll operate company vehicles while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities of a CDL Shuttle Driver:

Safe Vehicle Operation

• Operate passenger transportation vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Follow scheduled routes, trip assignments, and transportation plans.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local driving regulations.
• Exercise defensive driving techniques in all traffic conditions.
• Prioritize passenger safety during every trip.

Passenger Experience

• Greet passengers courteously and professionally.
• Assist riders with boarding and exiting when necessary.
• Provide clear communication regarding destinations and schedules.
• Create a welcoming and respectful environment for all passengers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout each interaction.

Accessibility & Passenger Assistance

• Assist passengers with mobility challenges when needed.
• Safely operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, and accessibility equipment.
• Secure mobility devices according to company procedures.
• Ensure all passengers travel safely and comfortably.
• Support passengers with patience, professionalism, and respect.

Vehicle Care & Inspection

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Identify and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Ensure safety equipment is operational and available.
• Accurately complete required inspection and operational reports.

Communication & Team Collaboration

• Maintain communication with dispatch and operations personnel.
• Report delays, incidents, route changes, or operational concerns.
• Support service reliability through accurate updates and reporting.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet transportation goals.
• Contribute to a culture of professionalism, safety, and accountability.

Qualifications of a CDL Shuttle Driver:

Required

• Valid CDL Class B License or higher.
• Passenger (P) Endorsement.
• Safe driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred

• Experience operating shuttle buses, transit vehicles, passenger vans, motor coaches, or similar transportation vehicles.
• Experience assisting passengers with accessibility needs.
• Knowledge of passenger transportation safety procedures.
• Background in transportation, hospitality, customer service, or public-facing roles.
• Familiarity with electronic logging or transportation software systems.
